The Federation Football International, better known by the acronym FIFA, is the international institution which directs the futsal, beach soccer and football associations, the most popular collective sports in the world. Affiliated to the International Olympic Committee, FIFA was founded in Paris on May 21st, 1904 and his headquarters are in Zurich, Switzerland.

Frenchman Robert Guerin was the dynamic figure behind the founding of FIFA in 1904. Guerin was actively involved in football through his role as secretary of the Football Department of the Union des Societies Franchises de Sports Athletiques. He brought together representatives of the first seven member countries in Paris for the signing of FIFA's foundation act and agreement of the first FIFA statutes.

So, FIFA dates from May 21, 1904.
It expanded to include its first non European country when South Africa joined four years later.

Each year FIFA awards a player of the year, currently called the FIFA Ballon d'Or after a fusion between France Football's Ballon d'Or and FIFA's Player of the Year.

For one month every four years, 32 football nations and a global audience focus their attention on the host country for the FIFA World Cup. With so many eyes and ears concentrated on one place for an extended period of time, the desire to cash in on the event is high so every nation is happy to be the host.
FIFA is expected to generate $4 billion in revenue for the upcoming tournament, with $1.4 billion coming from sponsorship revenue from 22 companies ($2.6 billion will be generated by TV rights to the matches). Since the 2006 World Cup, sponsorship revenue increased 33% for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and is expected to increase another 10% for the 2018 edition.

The symbol of the institution is two balls representing the world and it means For the game .For the World. People united for one cause: football.

There are many ambassadors of this institution like Mario Jorge Lobo ZAGALLO, AMARILDO Tavares da Silva, CARLOS ALBERTO TORRES, José Roberto Gama de Oliveira (BEBETO), RONALDO Luís Nazário de Lima and MARTA Vieira da Silva.
